Example of research goals and outline:
The topic that I will research is baseball. Baseball has been America's game for over 100 years, but Baseball grew in popularity in the 1920's and became an integral part of American Culture. That will be my thesis. The Great Gatsby is set in the 1920's, and that's Baseball's day and age. In the book, you meet the man who 'fixed' the 1919 World Series.
It was then the dead ball era ended, and a new celebrity, Babe Ruth, put fans into the seats to see his 'Ruthian' blasts. The Hot Dog eating and beer Swilling Bambino changed the face of the game and American Culture, gave a reason to build Yankee stadium and made millions of little boys wanted to be him. I'd like to examine the game before the 1920's, how and why it became popular, what it's popularity accomplished, and how it changed a country ( and keept it going through the Great Depression.)
